It's 12 noon and I am sitting at a lovely table in the shade of an enormous red umbrella on the rooftop bar.
I can't think of a better place to while away the time until my flight.
Being picked up from the Lobby at 6.40pm tonight.
So a bit of time yet.
I am not going to walk Lisbon anymore.
It is a brilliant sunny day here but very hot.
Not that I am complaining!
Just look at that sky!!!
( I've got a little bit of a tan.)
But, as I won't be getting on the plane for another 9 hours ...
Then another 24 hours after that until I am home ...
I have decided to just absolutely relax and enjoy the view.
The food is beautiful up here.
And Emily, you would be so proud of me!
Sitting for a minimum of 6 hours at a restaurant ...
Hasn't travel changed me?
Hey Andrew, saw your comment saying that it was good to organise the transport to the airport, better than what happened in Croatia.
And I thought, 'What happened in Croatia?'
Oh, yes ... That was funny.
But so glad I have these writings ...
So easy to forget the 'little' things ...
( And some of the big things as well!)
So I will be adding to this as I think of things ...
Flying into Split over all those glorious islands in the twin propeller plane.
( By the way, we walked out onto the tarmac to board this plane and, as we were waiting, you could see what looked like a giant extension cable from a truck with it's engine running, to the plane. Seriously looked like the batteries were being charged.)
The Riva.
The Jupiter Hotel.
First of many clock tower climbs!
Arriving Trogir and the huge welcome from Sibilia.
Changing rooms at Hvar ... NOW look at the view!
Dubrovnik.
Wonderful garden terraces.
Full moon photos.
Oh, Dubrovnik.
Wow, is that place special.
Late night arrival in Lisbon and window into my bathroom.
Loved it!
Tired but sat in that wonderful courtyard til the wee small hours.
Walking into the Lobby and meeting the man with the enormous smile, Tiago.
Best tour guide ever.
Walking round shaking hands with everyone, introducing myself.
Castles, Cathedrals, views ...
Not 'Eating with my mind.'
Funny Local Specialists.
Hearing a slightly flustered Tiago yelling out to Fatima at The Temple of Christ in Tomar from one of the Cloisters WAY down below because her tour with us was running late.
She telling him to 'keep his shirt on'.
( At least, we thought that was what she said!)
So funny and a special memory.
The walk amongst the Cork Trees.
Oh, the Cork Trees.
Tiny restaurants for dinner.
Huge garden estates for dinner.
Wonderful Portugal.
Lisbon.
Walking.
Taking lifts (not stairs) up the Monument.
No 28 (twice!)
Special Elevators.
And the magnificent Castle of St Jorge.
My room.
Trapped on the ( very, very narrow ) balcony.
For the first time in my life, I was not loud enough.
That view.
And the Rooftop.
Wow.
What a trip.
Did I mention shopping?
Case weighs about 27 kilo I think going by the bathroom scales in my room.
Left with 16.6 kg.
You can't remember what you have bought.
Well, I can't.
That's why unpacking is fun.
Amanda, you have done a spectacular job organising this trip.
Everything was perfect.
Each room was beautiful and the stays you recommended, perfect.
Thank you very much!
Pizza and drinks in The Folly soon.

Andrew Browning What a view to take in, what a vision to enjoy.
Andrew Browning Hi Carolyn, Sounds perfect, relaxing under an umbrella on the roof top for a few hours.Time to unwind and recharge ready for the journey home, but it’s not over just yet! What a trip eh, just imagine the memories that will flood back when you recount it all. WOW the Castle is majestic up on the hill commanding its place in history, great breakfast and balcony view. Hope you enjoyed the sunshine and worked on your tan to make us jealous.Don’t forget to test the beach ball theory so we know for next time. Safe travels,AndrewXx
