Hello.
Up at 7.30am.
Breakfast.
Last look at the wonderful long pedestrian street right next to my hotel.
I bought quite a bit along there.
Little things....
That fit in my case.
The girls in Reception are lovely.
Now, Amanda and Meagan....
Don't read the next bit.
OK?
I bought another case.
Yep.
Turns out that I am not one of those people who can travel with a back pack.
Now, I might have been.
But, the Italian Post System let me down.
Badly.
So, obviously, it is not my fault.
And I asked the girls in Reception if they knew anywhere I could buy a cheap case.
They said, "You could try the Chinese shop just out there and to the left."
So I took a walk.
There was a mid sized case for 13 Euros.
"Nah," I thought... "Everything fits in what I have."
So I left it.
Packing up this morning, I couldn't stop thinking that 13 Euros was a very cheap case.
And where would I find a case like that in Rome.
After packing everything...
And ready to go...
I'm early...
So I'm thinking....
" 13 Euros is very cheap for a case."
So, with nothing better to do, I shot out the door, to the left, along the road and bought one.
It wasn't because I had any need of it at all really.
It was just so cheap.
13 Euros.
When I walked back through Reception, towing my lovely green, 13 Euro Case, the girls in Reception looked at me and grinned.
"Chinese?"
"Chinese."
Once back in my room, I threw stuff from other case into the new 13 Euro Case.
No system.
No need.
Heaps of room.
It would have been a good idea to have some sort of system as it turns out.
The new 13 Euro Case ....
( henceforth known by the shortened acronym of '13' )
kept toppling over until the load settled.
So, I may not have told you Amanda ...all the girls laughing there with you ... and Meagan...
But I really did think I'd need another case.... Eventually.
Well, even I remember sending Meagan home with half of Europe in her case.
Just to lighten my load.
But I got this one REALLY early because it was so cheap.
13 Euros.
( Hope the wheels stay on!)
There you go.
Story of my morning.
( Emily, you're not laughing, are you?
I like backup.)
On the train.
Early.
I love it when they tell you the Platform number.
And the train is already there.
Platform 10.
13 and I are all settled.
( The Doctor's nose is out of joint.)
