Up at 6am. On the way to Florence for an early start to the tour.
We have been pulled over by the police...
Sitting on the bus for 1/2 an hour now ... Not liking this.... Would be useless in an airplane hijack situation... Did not quite realise that I was this claustrophobic.
The engine is off so no fresh air.
However, decided the best thing to do was ignore it.
Someone asked who was good at fainting... Just to put on a show... I volunteered but was quickly howled down .... Not able to keep quiet long enough apparently.
I think Calvin is going to be very unhappy.
He does like to get us to places early.
Well 1 hr 15 minutes later.... We are on our way.
They let us off the bus after a while....
Then Calvin did some time slot rearranging and we were headed to Florence.
Straight in at the museum .... To see David framed in that archway was amazing. And you could get so close!
Not that crowded really. Stayed there for absolutely ages ... Just in awe.
Also loved the 4 'slaves'.... The unfinished works that line the corridor as you look up towards David.
Walking tour of Florence... All the statues, churches, old buildings... Loved it.
Had some free time... Bought some charms and just wandered and looked at everything.
Back on the bus... Onto Rome and The Pantheon, then a walking tour of Rome by night.
Will be very tired tonight .

Andrew B I knew you would be tempted to straighten up the leaning tower of Pisa haha.Yes, I can relate to the heat Carolyn and we were there in the middle of summer, if only I’d known a dress was the answer !!!!!We have a new government, Tony Abbott is in.Had a great long weekend, the weather has been beautiful. No job for George yet, still waiting on a few to respond back……………….fingers crossed. Our garden is looking magnificent, can’t wait for day light saving to start.Rome – try the gelato……………..ALL of them…………………..and then try them ALL again.Keep having fun.Andrew XX
Narelle I love your dress Carolyn ..... great pins! But you have to get some sandals!!!! Well, we didn't win at the HR Awards and I didn't pick up a rich businessman ...buggar!! Had a great day in Sydney - gorgeous weather and I bought myself a couple of tops at a lovely market at The Rocks. Processing pays today ..... not nearly as exciting as visiting with David in Florence.
David Tennant Oh Carolyn you look smokin in that pink dress, can't wait to see you!
Mum Hi Sweetie, Yes Florence is magical, the detail,on the marble is mind boggling. Love all your photos, keep them coming, you're doing a great job. Think Daryl summed it up well with his comments on the dresses! Hope. You're cooler. Love Mum and Dad xxxx
