Later start again and apartment we are staying provide breakfast in the cost but have to walk about 330 mts to their restaurant/hotel. Good selection to choose from although here the yoghurt is a bit more sour than home. After breakfast take the train up to Lauterbrunnen a small village about seven hundred metres up from Interlaken . Fantastic views of the alps and hard to believe the number of little makeshift sheds that house a lot of split wood. It was only twenty minutes from Interlaken and very scenic. Walked up a track that gate was shut and said only open in winter but took a chance and went up. There was a waterfall that we thought would be good to see. So jumped the fence and headed up. A fairly steep trek and eventually walked through a wet tunnel that led to a walkway carved into the cliff face and to our surprise came out inside the waterfall. Wouldn't like to take this walk in winter. Weather actually very good and got a bit of sunburn today as temperature was about 25. A bit of a change from what we have experienced. From
There we took a bus to a terminal that had a cable car that went virtually straight up a cliff face to a village called Merrun. Thai place is 1750 mts up and considering at highest peak is around 2200 I thought we'd get there to a lookout. Not no a little village with houses just sitting on cliffs and only way things get there is by the cable. There was a helicopter flying in every five minutes delivering rollers for a new cable car. Snow covered the roofs of the small houses but if you were in some of them and fell out of bed you would be over the cliff. Really amazing the people live up here. There were a couple of roars and a few minor avalanches took place and have them on camera. You take that many photos that it's hard to decide what to put on net. Noticed in real estate office the price of houses. Only fairly small places but are selling for 1.5 million and that would be a three bedroom place. Ski season has finished but a lot of cross country skiers around also a lot of base jumpers about six living next door. I thought they were the Jamacian bobsled team. Off to Jungfrau tomorrow about 4200 mts up would be surprised if anyone was up there.
