Today we woke up fairly late but who can blame us after our early start yesterday. We didn't go far today as Lindsay was aching slightly, she managed to fall over on the volcano! It was a beautiful day so we sat in the sunshine in the park. Have to pack up again tonight as we are on the move again tomorrow, off to River Valley.

Today the alarm went of at 5am! yes thats right we got up that early crazy as it may seem. We caught a bus to Tongariro National Park, from here we did the Tongariro crossing. This was a trek across volcanoes, this was where a lot of The Lord of the Rings was filmed we got see Mt Doom! It was hard work and very very cold, there was snow at the top! boy are we going to ache tomorrow. It was 17km in total and took about 5 hours, well worth it though.

Today we explored the town, its quite touristy here its where a lot of Kiwi's go for their summer holidays. We walked along Lake Taupo and had a look around the shops. This is the place (apart from Queenstown) where all the adrenalin freaks go, we have seen hundreds of sky divers over the lake.

Today was a bit of a strange day, we went to catch our bus to Waitomo but our driver stopped us and told us that Waitomo had been flooded with all the rain and was shut and would be for the next few days. So now we had the choice to stay in Rotorua for a few more days or go straight to Taupo. Well seen as we were already packed we decided to go straight to Taupo. Well. today is our last day in Rotorua and it finally decides to stop raining. So we took this as an advantage to explore the town properly, we had a walk around the town centre and sat down by the lake for a while. Quite a lazy day really, making the most of not having to work! Had to pack yet again this evening, you would think we would be a bit more organised by now but everytime we do washing we have to re-pack everything!
