A fairly civilized hour for our departure this morning with a morning stop at a beautiful waterfall along the way before we arrived at Horseshoe Bay where we catch the B.C Ferry across to Vancouver Island. A cross Island drive of a couple of hundred miles took us to Victoria where which will be home for a couple of nights.
Accommodation is at the Fairmont Empress Hotel another gem of a Hotel overlooking the harbour.
Left to our own devices for dinner we headed off with Vicki & Murray, Jo & David to find a venue for dinner, for a while we didn't think we could navigate our way out of the hotel but eventually founding a rear exit and just over the road was the Spaghetti Factory a great resturant, very busy but we all really enjoyed the atmosphere and wonderful food.
We spent the morning at Butchart Gardens (next blog) a quick walk to find a Post Office to send off home some collected treasures filled our day untill our Scenic Experience a High Tea in the beautiful Palm Court restaurant, within the Empress Hotel we shared a table with fellow travellers and were treated to a wide range of delicacies to savour and enjoy.
Needing to walk off afternoon tea, we headed over the road for a relaxing walk around the bustling harbour watching the water taxies zipping around, ships of all shapes and sizes coming into to dock and many sea planes landing & taking off.
A farewell Dinner tonight for this leg of our journey before we board the Golden Princess in the morning.
