After arriving at the majestic Fairmont Hotel Vancouver in our chauffeured driven Lincoln town car it was a wonderful surprise to learn of our room upgrade to the Fairmont Gold Floor, as we settled into our newly refurbished room for a much appreciated refreshing shower we ventured off to look around the CBD of Vancouver.
Feeling the effects of a long fight and little sleep we had a little nap and then off again this time down towards the harbour we found ourselves at Canada Place where our cruise ship leaves from. Terrific walk along the harbour front where seaplanes fly from all manner of vessels coming and going.
We met our tour director Suzie at a Buffet dinner along with fellow travellers on this tour.
Suzie has us well organised and we were all up bright and very early enjoying a buffet breaky on the roof top, before meeting our coach driver Johnathon who will be with us for the next couple of weeks.
We arrived at Capilano gardens as they were just opening so no crowds and we got a guided tour around the beautiful gardens. I braved it up and walked over the suspension bridge but felt that was enough for one day so Reino did the tree top walk & the cliff edge walk.
A tour through Stanley Park brought us the joy of beautiful music from the humblest musician. Elbowed it with the crowds to look at the Totem Poles.
The afternoon was ours to do as we wished so back down to Canada Place to the Fly over Canada so not what I was expecting it was a flight simulator with movement and total effects Reino thought it was fantastic, I was terrified for most of it, great experience but I will give it a miss next time thanks Eve.
Tonight, was a free night so spent it at 5's in the Gold Lounge where they had a great selection of nibbles. It was great to catch up with some of our fellow tour buddies.
