Our trusty coach driver Jonathon took us up further into the beautiful Rocky Mountains through some stunning views of snow-capped mountains and fast flowing rivers.
As we got our first look at the majestic Banff Springs Hotel and a walk around the town centre of Banff it is quite breath taking a very beautiful quaint little village which started its life as a resort that then grew into a town all overlooked by the lovely Castle Mountain.
Fairbanks Banff Springs Hotel is our home for the next couple of nights and our room again has a wonderful view down across town. Dinner tonight is at the Fairmont Golf course and then a golf cart tour around the course for more stunning mountain views and the local elk which call the course home.
It was a wonderful surprise to wake up and find it snowing outside how magical it looks. The Vermillion room breakfast buffet has again with a grand selection of goodies available, so spoilt for choice and very tempting to overindulge.
We took the curtesy car down to the town to drop off our load of washing then wandered the streets while the snow kept on falling, just beautiful but it became quite slippery in parts, caught the local bus back up to the hotel as we were being picked up to be taken out to a ranch to climb aboard the chuck wagon for a trip up into the forest for a cookout, the snow had given over to drizzle and pretty chilly so we were all very grateful for the girls supplying us with thick blankets to snuggle up in to, it was great trip up through the snow lined track. We were served melt in your mouth steaks with baked suds with toppings and the nicest coffee served from a huge old coffee pot.
Back to the hotel for a welcome warm shower before our Dinner in the Vermillion room, which again was beautiful but after our big lunch an entrée size was quite enough.
