Arriving to the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise was nothing short of Magnificent this amazing hotel was built in 1894 to replace the original Chateau which still there but very run down & neglected. The hotel was refurbished in 1988 for the Calgary winter Olympics, but it still retains many original features and is stunning everywhere you look. Overlooking beautiful Lake Louise which is every bit as stunning as pictures we had seen. Our room for the next couple of nights is room 451 which is situated in the middle of the main building looking straight out over the forecourt and lake how spoilt are we.

The group was given a wonderful talk by a retired Mountie and he had many stories to tell of his adventures during his career.

Dinner was part of our package tonight and we were in the Alpine room, huge servings and prices to match Reino's rib eye which he said was melt in the mouth beautiful it sure need to be at $183.50.

Breakfast at Poppy's was a great buffet a great way to kick start our days, we have found though they really don't know how to make a decent coffee or cook there bacon without smothering it with maple syrup, I even tried a camembert cheese cooked in maple syrup sprinkled with pistachios and brown sugar wow sugar overload.
