A great trip further up into the Rocky Mountains, beautiful scenery all the way along the way.
We were lucky enough to spot a variety of wildlife along the way, supper impressed how the locals & park rangers take so much care in looking after their wildlife, there was bears on the highway near Banff and they totally closed the highway until the bears were moved away from the roadside, amazing.
We had all rugged up for our trip up onto the Athabasca Glacier it was chilly down in the carpark and at the staging area to board the big transport buses, but up on the Glacier it was quite warm and we were all soon peeling off the layers. Suzie had brought along a special Maple Syrup Wine for us to celebrate our walk out on to the Glacier, it was super sweet but a very thoughtful idea.
Johnathon dropped us off in the township of Jasper for a leisurely walk around, while he & Suzie head out to Jasper lodge to drop off our baggage and pick our welcome packages it includes accommodation information and our room number and keycard.
Suzie has had us doing what she calls our homework sheets as we head off to a new destination we dutifully fill in what time baggage is to be left before departure, which restaurant we are going to be eating at whether it be breakfast or dinner and also our free choice excursion information, we groan when we're doing it but has saved us from a lot of hustle and confusion.
