Woke to a freezing morning with the mountains receiving a light top up of snow. Had breakfast in the very quaint breakfast room with a beautiful view out the window. Called in to the local tourist information centre to see if there was any chance of traveling through the south entrance of Yellowstone as we had thought of going up to Canada rather than out East to Indiana. We were told the south entrance would be closed for a couple more weeks, had also checked weather at Glacier NP in Montana and the road was closed their also, the forecast weather also looked a bit ordinary for Canada so decided we will travel there another year and plan it for summer.
Drove over the Teton Pass with spectacular view down to the Jackson valley, stopped for a romp in the snow before getting to the Idaho border. Only wildlife spotted were a few deer on the roadside. The trip down into Idaho is a lovely trip, we then joined the I15 south towards Twin Falls and into Nevada arriving in Elko to stay at the Gold Country Casino where it was remarkably mild!
