We spent the last few days relaxing at Craigs cousins, Andrew & Mandish, after 5 days of driving. Its when you hit the road you realise just how big Australia is, and how long it takes to get from one city to the next. We spent thursday night babysitting Craigs cousins 2 kids, Mathew & Christopher, when we got to learn all about Star wars. Friday night we went out on a parents evening, crown green bowling. It certainly was an interesting night! Its true the ozzies are very competitive no matter what the sport. On Saturday we headed into the city to explore. The Commenwealth Games start on Wednesday so everywhere is gearing up towards that. We walked along the river, which was decorated with flags and fish for each commenwealth country. We saw the MCG from the river, but didnt go up close as it was too hot. Melbourne is similar to Sydney with lots of skyscrapers, and nice shops and bars. Its also got lots of trams zipping up every street which make for some interesting driving. saturday night we walked around Chinatown then along the river to the casino. It was surprisingly huge inside and reminded us of Vegas, at night it has a fire show outside, however this was rather tame compared to Vegas. Sunday we fly up to Cairns.
