We arrived into Cairns and felt like we had stepped into a sauna. It was so hot and sticky, but also black skies, not what we were hoping for. Its been chucking it down and found out its the end of the monsoon season. We decided to chill out today, monday, and managed to catch a few rays between showers. Cairns is fairly small, and is a base for trips to the reef. We were surprised to see that the sea here isnt blue but looks dirty brown, not sure if thats due to all the rain. Also you cant go in the sea on the coast due to all the different jelly fish. However in the centre there is a big lagoon pool, where we spent the afternoon relaxing. Tomorrow we are going on a boat to the outer reef to snorkel, although it looks like its going to be a rough ride as the sea swell is 3metres!
