We increased the air con temperature during the night to avoid it being so cold, but incidentally, I woke up sweating! We hadn't sussed the whole air con/fan situ just yet. We went for breakfast in the cutest little cafe ever, right on the beach front called 'Cafe Lipe'. It was like a typical beachy, wooden shack cafe, with palm trees sheltered over the front. It was literally adorable! The food was really good too! After, I caught up with some stuff online, Sarah read her book and then I joined Masa on the beach. The sun was extremely hot today, the hottest I've known it so far. There wasn't a cloud in the sky and the sea was the most beautiful colour I've ever seen! It was the type of scene I would imagine when I think of paradise, just out of this world! We stayed on the beach and relaxed all day. The sea was so warm and clear, I could still see my feet on the sea bed floor even when I was neck deep in the water...just crystal clear! It's amazing how somewhere so beautiful was still relatively untouched, it wasn't like the island was heaving with tourists. However, in the three days that we had been there, we had seen a few new shops and bars open for the first time and tourist signs go up. It's sad to think in 5-10 years, this place could be over run with tourism which would just take away its beauty. I'm just glad I got to see it before that happens.
We decided later in the afternoon to hire out some kayaks between us. There wasn't any 3 seater kayaks available so we got a one and a two seater. The two seater was completely clear so you could see the sea and coral beneath you as you rowed. Sarah wanted to have the one person Kayak and I was jealous she did because the two seater kayak was so hard to manoeuvre because it was so heavy. The company had told us not to jump out of that one too as it was very unstable, and if it got submerged in water which often happens, it had the potential to sink to the bottom, costing us a lot of money! We rowed for what felt like ages only to realise we weren't far from the beach still. We got out deeper and thought...'oh well, you only live once!', and off we jumped. One person had to stay in the kayak to keep it stable so we took it in turns. Also, it was really hard to get back in! I was terrible at jumping off the kayak as couldn't get my balance but Sarah was really good! After, we headed back to the beach which took us forever and a lot of energy, so that we could go back and get showered ready for the night. We had all agreed that we would have an earlyish night as we had a lot to get done by the time we were leaving and we also had an early start for the ferry to Koh Lanta in the morning. After getting ready, we headed to the beach for some food. It was only 5 pm in the evening by that point and the restaurant we wanted was closed so we decided to go use some wifi at the little bakery we'd been to before and have a snack as had missed lunch so we were all starving! Technically that was our starters. We bought our ferry tickets and got some more money from the ATM. We had been recommended a restaurant on the beach front called 'Lion' so once that opened at 6 pm, we headed straight there. We each had food from the BBQ, I had a massive tiger prawn which was out of this world! Once we had finished, we walked up the main strip to the 'Thai Lady Pancake shop' and each had a Roti for dessert. It was so good. I decided that tomorrow I needed to start being a bit more careful with my food intake as I'm eating crap all day, and my food poisoning was pretty much at its end so I didn't have that to aid me in maintaining my weight.
It got towards 9 pm so we made our way back to the room. Our last night on Koh Lipe, we were gutted to leave asics just the most amazing beautiful island but were looking forward to our next stop in Koh Lanta!
