Today was another beautiful summers day in UK, raining ALL day!
We went to a place called Grasmere we went to see the Wordsworth museum and Dove cottage where he did a lot of his writing and lived with his wife, Mary & children & his sister Dorothy. This is also the area where Beatrice Potter lived and worked but unfortunately we didn't get to see any of her places of interest, but lots of merchandise available in all the local shops.
Exploring more of the Lakes district is amazing (I have used that word a lot to describe lots of place we have been but they have all been amazing in many different ways) The Lakes district is certainly an area that would be great to live, just not sure if I could handle the weather, don't mind this weather for winter but not sure I could handle it for summer. The country side and the Lakes are very picturesque which we saw (through the rain) on a cruise on Lake Windermere and then rode a steam train to Haberthwaite to get back on the bus to travel to Chester. I was hoping that the steam train station would have some historical information on George Stephenson but it didn't. when we arrived at the motel that the tour director said was like a museum with some of the memorabilia there was a portrait and information on George Stephenson on the wall.
The traffic to get to Chester was crazy bumper to bumper in the rain for a couple of hours and arrived an hour after expected.
