What I forgot at the end of the last blog was that we had a restaurant booked for lunch yesterday. The Pot Luck Club is a top CT restaurant and, as is all the range these days, serves tapas type dishes. Our new accommodation could be described as ‘bijou’. After our spacious apartment at Hout Bay our cottage feels a bit on the small side. We have all that we need though - bedroom, lounge, kitchen/diner, shower room, patio and small garden. We can also use the pool for the main house. We also have a view of the mountain! On Friday we decided to do a mini peninsula tour. That is, we would go down towards Cape Point but not actually bother to go into the National Park (i.e. the actual Cape Point) because we’ve done it a number of times in the past and the drive around the coast is beautiful in it’s own right. A couple of days ago we were coming off the beach. Opened the car boot, put some stuff in and shut it. Quite hard! Little was I to know that Lin was behind me and had inserted her head into said boot at the same time. She got quite a bang on the head! When we got home I provided an ice pack and fortunately, apart from a lasting bruise there was no other damage. At least that is noticeable! Well we made it. Got through Valentine’s Day! Going back to the start of yesterday though, we left Franschhoek at just gone 9. It was a lovely day and we climbed up through the pass out of town and looked down over the valley. The sun was out and all was right with the world! We had a plan as well.
