An early morning start today, the car in booked in for servicing at 7.30am. I don't think we could not have picked a better Toyota Dealership. The service was great, the guy we dealt with (Daniel) had recently transitioned from mechanic to front of shop and knew all the answers to our questions. The train station was across the road, without asking they offered us courtesy public transport tickets, it is far easier than a service at home! Perth's are like myki at home and yes, just like home, you can't just turn up to the station and buy a ticket! 2 station stops saw us in Central Perth. We rode the free public buses around the city. As far as CBD's and public transport goes, Perth was immaculately clean and no graffiti.
We explored the newly opened Elizabeth Quay and then off to Kings Park (Perth's spectacular botanical gardens), gardens are immaculately maintained, especially the lawns. The location on the river was most impressive too. Many of the gum trees lining the walk in were 85 years old, the boys were trying to measure how wide their trunks were, see pics, their hands out of picture were touching.
We had to explore the mall, the usual buskers were out. Stumbled on the medieval ally way, see pics. (No, I was not photographing the lady she was posing for her own pictures at the time!).
The car was all good, except we have been told the diesel in the tank is dirty and the fuel filter should be changed again (warning light is not on as yet though). After asking many questions, we decided to use up the fuel we have (our tank hold 139s litres and is almost full), then Brad can replace the filter himself, just like before. We couldn't see the point in replacing the filter only to have dirty fuel run through it. We will also start adding a fuel cleaning product that Toyota sell, (do this once a week while we are away). We will also use the doc. fuel filter on every fill from now on (we were saving this for potential dirty fuel up north (thanks to Glenn James for recommending the doc. Fuel filter). There is a good chance we could have been carrying the dirty fuel for some time as we tend to be regularly filling up the tanks with 40-50 litres. Daniel said that seeing fuel like ours was very common to see in cars traveling.
We are all really enjoying this caravan park, especially the kids, so many activities for them to occupy their time and gives us some peace and quiet. Last night we all went for an after dinner swim in the pools. One of the pools is an averaged sized kidney shaped pool that has the spa jets around the pool, as sitting ledge and is set to 34 degrees (the boys were encouraging us that we need one just like this at home, I support them on the idea.)
Tomorrow we will continue north, explore the Pinnacles and hopefully camp at Sandy Cape another beach camp)

Brad i don't know if you know but Phil Moore (Ken Tidball and my golf partner) has has a stroke - apparently no. 4! He appears to be coming good now. Keep on travelling - look forward to the next instalment.
