On our departure check this morning at 5.45am WA time, we noticed one of the van tyres was a little flat. Hawkeye Lachlan found that it already had a plugged hole (from previous owners) and was leaking air from it. Rather than worry about repatching we put on one of the spares and started off on the 146 km longest straight road in Australia. We concurred The Nullabour today. Arriving in Norseman, we were surprised at how small the town is, it's such a large spot on the map. Unfortunately the mine closed down 18 months ago, now another dying town & bank recently shut up shop.
Drove into Kalgoorlie, a massive town in comparison, yet it's Sunday afternoon and like a ghost town in the main stream, even Coles & Woolies shut, we will have to wait until tomorrow to stock up on fresh fruit and vegetables.
Visited the Kalgoorlie museum this afternoon.
Possibly a mine tour in the morning and Royal Flying Doctor Service.
