Wow, what a day!!!

We were able to do 4 swims with 3 Whale Sharks out in the Indian Ocean. The water was so clear, making visibility excellent. The Whale Shark is the largest shark of the shark species, humans are not on their diet! They travel solo. They are near on impossible to spot from the boat, so the companies fly planes to spot them & then radios to the boat where to find them. Thankfully the company we chose has their own plane. Other companies share a plane, meaning less time with sharks. One other boat dropped in on our last swim, as they had not spotted a whale shark all day, rather than us staying on longer, we left so they could have a swim.

Once back in the reef we had time to snorkel. Brad & I went on a scuba dive, saw so many fish and interesting hard corals. The reef is not as colourful as a soft coral reef, however, when you see the coloured corals they really pop and the fish stand out more. While we dived the boys snorkelled under the supervision of Simmo the dive master, they had a ball with him. He let them use the underwater propelling scooter, this enabled them to do front & back flips under the water and spend more time close to the bottom as they don't use all their air kicking down to the bottom. They were then able to jump off the roof of the boat. We all had an awesome day.
