Hi ya!
Day two and also our anniversary! The morning started with Dustin making us a traditional English breakfast, beans on toast with English tea. Which is surprisingly easy to make! You just need to heat up beans and then put them on toast!? It tasted better than it sounds :)
From there we walked down the block and rented a bike. The bikes cost 1 lb in tax for 24 hrs and the first 30 mins were free, the first hour was another lb, and then it had some sort of equation for the rest. So we set off on bikes, it is very evident Brian bikes to work everyday, while I have not been on a bike since the fourth grade (or one would think). We biked through downtown London, of course by accident! We were detoured early and took the scenic route of all the weekday men dresses in suits. We were told this is the 'real' London. We biked across the London bridge (which I ironically almost fell down on) and tower bridge.
After we dropped off the bikes we took a river cruise down the Thames River. It takes you under all the bridges (London, tower, millennium, and another 3ish), past the London eye, globe theatre, big Ben, and plenty of other notables.
After that we jumped on the hop on hop off tour. We went to the Westminster Abbey (didn't go in), Buckingham Palace, and drove by several other places we can't think of, off the top of our head.
We had lunch down from Picadilly Circus in the broadway district. We had fish and chips and a couple of beer.
After supper we went to Trafaglar Square. There was a free screening of an opera of Madam Butterfly. Then we took our first ride on the underground tube.
Now we are at a local pub having a few beer and then heading to bed.
It was another adventurous day!
Cheers,
R & B
