Day one was a long, but a great day! We arrived in London at 11 am (4 am our time). We did our best to sleep on the plane, but we all know how that goes!
We got off the plane and took the express train to paddington station (west central London). From there we bought tickets for a hop on hop off tour around London (27 lbs each). It lasts for 48 hrs, which will take us till Tuesday around noon. May not be the best deal, but we were tired and thought it would be nice to be drove around!
On the tour we got off at the first stop, Hyde Park. A beautiful, huge park with a few concerts going on. We walked around and then took a break to watch the English people (who by the way all smoke and tend to roll up their pants no matter the length).
We then "hopped" back on the bus. The bus took us to sights such as Big Ben, the tower bridge, London bridge, London Eye, etc.
After a long afternoon of walking and riding (with our backpacks I might add), we sat down for an ice-cream cone ( 2 lbs) just along the water then headed off to our couch surfing hosts!
We arrived there around 630. It only took us a bus, taxi, and four feet to get there. We were welcomed by Dustin and Helena. They had daal (vegetarian lentil curry) and rice for us for supper. We drank some guiness, talked, then headed to bed. We needed to sleep!
