In total, we took a five day holiday from our holiday and it was splendid, relaxing, and refreshing. We spent our first couple of days on the black sand beach in Perissa. The island is very small, so we decided to rent a quad for the last two days. The first day we had the quad we drove it through Fira (capital city) and up to Oia to watch the sunset. We found this picture stuck on a business door in Nice, France and thought it was perfect for this week. We took a ferry from Athens direct to the Island of Thira, also known as Santorini. We have a hotel just minutes off the beach where we plan on staying until August first. Until then, we will try and get all our pictures up from Pisa, Firenze, Roma, and Athena. Yasas! We arrived in Athens on the 26th after a long train (4 hrs), ferry (15 hrs), and bus (4 hrs) ride. In the last 12 hours we were able to take in the Acropolis, Temple of Zeus, Hadrian's Arch, Ancient Agora (origin of democracy), Roman Agora, and Theatre of Dionysos. The Acropolis continues to be restored, but the fact it has been there since roughly 450 BC is truly amazing. Later today we will take the ferry to the island of Thira (Santorini). Where we a...
