Ahhh big sigh...yet another long weekend!!

Finally the event i have been looking forward to for weeks arrived! the St. Andrew's ball at the Marriott in Miri (great place to spend a long weekend at the best of times!)

Left school on Friday and arrived in the early evening. Enough time for a gorgous massage, a nice dinner and a couple of cocktails before gettinga well deserved early (ish) night in preperation for the ball.

Saturday day time was mostly spent lazing around the pool, where unfortunatly i got a bit burnt!!

The ball arrived. We had a cocktail reception in the bar and then were piped in to the grand ballroom by maylasian bagpipe players. There followed a 4 cuorse meal where i tried a couple of new things and an endless supply of alcohol - it was scottish!! The ball was kind of an end of year even for the St Andrews "club" in Kuala Belait. mostly made of of oil workers, army and their familys. So it was nice to meet new people but i did kind of feel we were gate crashing their party as they had lots of speeches about who ahd won what and then presentations for people leaving. But the speeches were funny with ots of jokes about getting "phished".

After the speeches came the scottish dancing, which i have NEVER done in my life, however somehow managed to be dragged on the dance floor a couple of times. It was great fun though!

After the dancing the disco started and then a few of us retired to the hotel bar - until 4.30am!!!!!

As it was nearly time to get up when i went to bed, sunday was pretty much a right off! I spent the day mostly reading and relaxing.

Monday came an dit was time to travel back to Brunei. This weekend was fun, it was something a little different and everything i had looked looked forward to. A chance to get super dressed up and meet a few new faces!
