As always happens, I am finishing this now that we are home. We caught the train into Perth - the line looks very new, and there were heaps of park and ride arrangements at Mandurah, and frequent trains during peak hour. Did the walk through central Perth, found the R M Williams outlet store, they are not as easy to find as some, and Someone bagged himself some new jeans comparatively cheaply. Walked down to Kings Park, and managed to find the least attractive corner of it to have lunch...then we found the beautiful part that looks out over the Swan and features the war memorial and eternal flame. Caught one if the free buses that do repeat circuits of Perth and went past the WACA and got off at the mint. Did the tour, which included watching a gold ingot being melted and poured. There was a bar if gold to try lifting. It didn't look very big, but it was really heavy 12kg.
Quite cool and breezy, but we managed to keep going all day, despite the coughs and splutters.
