Rang mum to see how the angiogram went, and all is basically well, but some precautions to take.
Headed for AQWA today - north of Perth near Hillary's. Being school holidays, it was full of small children, but it was really well done. I've not been to an aquarium for a long time - this one had a moving footpath running through the fantastic walk through aquarium, full of sharks and fish and turtles and rays, all of them coming very close. Being able to see them from all angles was quite amazing. There were opportunities to pat rays; there was a sea snake, leafy dragons, fish of all shapes and sizes.... Dolphins in the bay. Lunched afterwards on sandwiches above Trig's beach. The limestone rock formations are so different to those of the east coast.
Headed across to Guildford, an historic pastoral town that was something of a centre before Perth was established as a centre of government. Then we headed up into John Forrest National Park. It is one of the few higher points that we could see - and then decided to head home to avoid the peak hour traffic. Only there had been an accident and it was already a traffic jam. Then the threatening clouds that had become increasingly ominous finally let fly with a downpour. No dramas, except desperately needing to fill up with petrol (again!). The gauge says 70kms to go and then all of a sudden you are on empty! We haven't run out yet...... thankfully.
For Jon - ravioli, broccoli and tomato based sauce followed by cheesecake.
