Oops - Chris was cruising along at 145kph, which is very quiet and comfortable in the Discovery, but the limit is 120kph and there was a speed trap just over the brow of a hill = a R750 fine (about £47) - but at least you don't get points on your licence here.

What was crazy though is that the police were operating the speed trap on the central reservation hard shoulder - requiring you to brake in the fast lane, pull off to the right and back up. Then once the ticket had been issued you had to pull out into the fast lane and accelerate hard - absolute lunacy!! I wonder what the accident stats are around central reservation speed traps.
