We slept until around 8.00am this morning feeling much more refreshed. We made some coffee and breakfast, then got on our way. We were heading north still to a place called Champagne pools. It was a rocky area with some huge parts of it covered in water, quite deep water. The rock pools it makes have loads of crabs and fish in them. The name Champagne pools comes from the huge waves that come over the top of the pools and splash inside to make bubbles. We spent a bit of time here just chilling out and James having a paddle. A brave group of people came and had a swim! After leaving we headed for a place called Indian Head, we were now making our way south. We walked right to the top, you could see for miles, we saw splashing just out in the sea. There was a group sat behind us with a tour guide, we got from him that the splashes were actually whales playing in the water. We sat up there watching for some time. Next we headed further back down the beach to have a good look at the shipwreck which we could get a little closer to today. We stopped at the sand pinnacles too to have a good look and Eli Creek where we had a walk and dipped our feet in. It was then time to find a camp spot, it had been suggested that we camp just behind a sand dune off the beach tonight, these are places you can camp but they have no facilities. We found a great spot not too far from the shipwreck and started cooking tea seen as the sun would go down soon and we ate our tea and sat outside. Because there was no one else around and no other lights, the sky was utterly clear. The stars were absolutely beautiful, neither of us have ever seen them like that before. There were literally thousands of stars we could see and we could even see the Milky Way. We sat up for quite a while just looking at them before it started to get a little too cold to be sat out then we got to bed.
