We rented a scooter again today, Palolem doesn't actually have a cash machine and we need to pay for our beach hut stay in cash. So we got a scooter and went onto the next town along Chaudi, there were about 10 there! We decided to carry on driving and went to Patnem beach for a change. It had a few beach shacks and bars but other than that it was very quiet. There weren't many people there at all. We sat in a bar most of the afternoon as they had wifi so we did some planning for when we are in Kerela. We sat until the sun started to go down and then got something to eat there. We made our way back to the hut, in the dark! And chilled out in the evening with our books. Just before going to bed I checked the room for Mosquitos, as I looked up at the net there was some huge creature on there. We didn't have a clue what it was and weren't keen on sleeping while it was there either! We got rid of it out of the door, which took some doing. It looked like some sort of giant stick insect, it's back looked like the bark on a tree. It was about 10cm long and 3cm wide. We slept much better knowing it was outside!
