We started today by getting up to watch the sun rise again. It was much clearer this morning and you seemed to see it sooner as it was visible as soon as it came over the horizon. We had breakfast then packed our things and checked out at around 9.00am. We got a taxi to the train station, the station was really busy. We thought it might be a problem getting a ticket for the train but in fact the queue for tickets was very short and we got two tickets for sleeper class non ac, which basically means there are no windows just bars on the spaces. When we walked out at about 9.30am the train was already there on the platform so we easily found where we needed to be and waited to go. It couldn't be any more opposite to our journey to get here!! We set off at exactly 10.30am and the train wasn't full so we had loads of room to sit and spread. It was a really clear morning so the views were even better than when we arrived the mountains were so clear. We arrived in Trivandrum where we needed to get off at about 12.30pm. Unfortunately we weren't quite quick enough getting up and out and there were loads of people waiting to get on so they piled on before we had chance to get out. It took loads of pushing before we were through the masses and could get off. We then got a tuk tuk to Kovalam, the tuk tuk dropped us off down a road and pointed to an alley way and said walk down there and ask for Charles, people will show you. It was a little strange but we went with it, they seemed like back alleys, someone did recognise the name and point us in the right direction. We found the place, there was Charles the owner of the hotel there to meet us. He seemed very cool and laid back, his English was really good. We filled in all the paperwork and had a green tea. He told us he has his own under ground spring for water which is safe to drink. He has it in a water filter and said for us to help ourselves to it. After putting our bags in the room Charles said his employee Babu would show us the way to the beach. We followed him down more alley ways and eventually came out at the beach. We went for a walk around and had a late lunch before going back. It was surprisingly easy to find our way back. We chilled out back at the hotel for the rest of the evening.
