Today was a bit of a non-event. Quite appropriate really, seeing as it’s the Glorious Fourth. We drove east from Broome to Fitzroy Crossing.
First stop was a mango farm, where we had mango smoothies, mango slushies and mango ice-cream. They had lots of mango trees, wines, chutneys, sauces and other souvenirs, but no actual mangoes. I was hoping. What they did have was a wood oven for a colocated pizza business, and soon after we arrived the proprieter removed about thirty fresh, warm, crusty loaves of bread, which ten minutes later were almost all sold.
The smell of fresh bread diffused through the car until lunchtime, tempting us. We had some with our lunch, on the lawn in front of the Willare Bridge Roadhouse. The had a curious sign in their bathroom, which you see in this photo. Can anyone explain it to me?
In the evening we enjoyed a three-way Skype session with Gran & Grandpa in Sydney and Karen & Nalissa on the south coast, scaring them all with our bushy appearance!
