After a fantastic night's sleep we felt a million times better than yesterday! It is supposedly winter here but we've spent the day in shorts and tee-shirts.
We had a very nice lunch at the Mugg and Bean with Uncle Allan, Aunty Faye and Granny Beryl. The food was great but Brett was most excited about the bottomless cups of coffee with which he'd survived his Uni years.
We spent the afternoon with our tour guide, Aunty Faye, taking us around. We went to the beach and dipped our feet into the Indian Ocean (the first time for me). While it is warm here it wasn't quite warm enough for swimming yet.
Durban is beautiful with the trees (lots of palms) and sea views. We've seen some HUGE houses on our travels. It's definitely not like NZ though. All houses have large front fences with barb wire on the top. The Bailey's street even has a security guard who keeps an eye on things at night.
I've definitely been getting a real taste of Africa - even saw a Ute driving down the road with 10 guys standing in the tray!
Off to the game park for the weekend tomorrow which we're very excited about.

Diana Glad you guys are enjoying Durbs...don't forget UShaka:-)
John Have a great time. Monique is worried that there are no spelling mistakes!! Boy Alan looks like Poppa Roy. Enjoy.
Gwen Hey, so great to see you in Durbs and hear that you are having a good time so far. James' Aunty Bunn from Zim was asking after you guys again and was pleased to hear that you are off on a big adventure. We have woken up to a frosty start so just staying inside by the fire - very jealous to see you in t-shirts :-) Have fun on the game park
