Our overseas adventure has finally begun!!!! After a miniscule amount of sleep we were up bright and early at 3.30am. Honestly no flight should leave that early in the morning! Poor Dad beat the caretaker to work arriving at 4.30.
A delightful Jetstar flight (which did take off and there was no ash cloud - yay!) over to Sydney and the first flight was done.
As for the second flight - it took forever! It was my (Rebecca) first long distance flight and I now know they really are as long and boring as people say. Thirteen and a half hours, four movies, two yummy meals and pretty much no sleep later we landed in Jo'burg safely - despite flying with Qantas. Customs was nonexistent, consisting of 4 staff sitting on chairs having a chat! After another wait, during which we wandered around the flash Jo'burg airport, we got onto our last flight to Durban. Uncle Allan and Aunty Faye met us at the airport and after some supper we went to our beckoning bed.
Mum and Dad, if you thought we were bleary eyed at 3.30am you should have seen us 28 hours later!

Michelle love your stuff, Brett :P Next time an early morning picture of Rebecca too perhaps?? I'm glad to hear it all went off without a hitch, but disappointed to hear that long-haul travel is just as long and boring as they say, lol!!
Michelle (p.s. did you actually fly via Antarctica, or is the travel line below just a bit loopy for graphic effect??!!)
Rebecca LOL - it felt like we went via Antarctica ... but we actually stopped at Sydney and then went around Oz and lots of ocean :)
