We are staying here at Granite Gorge which is just out of Mareeba in the Atherton Tablelands for a couple of days.
There is an abundance of wildlife here, when we arrived we were surrounded by turkeys,peacocks,all different sorts of weird looking chooks,rock wallabies and heaps of other bird life.
The funniest are the turkeys,they walk around all puffed up looking beautiful gobbling away then all of a sudden they drop their feathers and they are the ugliest things you have ever seen. One of the peacocks did a beautiful dance for us and showed us his plumage,the colours are amazing.
We drove to Kuranda on Sunday to the markets and had a lovely day wandering around the stalls although there weren't as many as I remembered.
