We are back at beautiful Bowen again

We are now at Rollingstone which is just north of Townsville. It is very busy here at the moment and there are kids everywhere as it is school holidays so we are just laying low and relaxing. We are here for 4 days then on the road south again.

We have now come down of the mountains and have hit the beach, it is lovely here and we are right on the beach front. We have booked in for 3 days and there is no power here and we are starting to regret our decision as everyone around us had got a generator. They are only allowed to run them between 8am and 8pm and some people literally run them that whole time. Unbelievable

We have booked into Atherton for a week so that we can spend some time exploring the tablelands as there is a lot to see up here. The weather up here is a lot cooler which we don't like but the scenery is beautiful, we spent a day driving around to all the falls in the area and they are just beautiful. Spent the next day going to a small town which has built a historic village which would have to be the best we have ever been to, even had camp oven stew damper ...

We are staying here at Granite Gorge which is just out of Mareeba in the Atherton Tablelands for a couple of days. There is an abundance of wildlife here, when we arrived we were surrounded by turkeys,peacocks,all different sorts of weird looking chooks,rock wallabies and heaps of other bird life.
