cameron highlands - after staying in penang for a while we decided to move to a more natural enviroment, hopefully to enjoy some trekking or walks! the bus to the highlands was terrible, was very old and looked unsafe, and the roads were steep and winding which made the bus sound even worse than it did on the motorways, anyway we arrived safely.
the guide books said that it was a sleepytown in the highland which has big tea farming industry and tradtional british tea shops, which was spot on desription, not really much else to do. we went for a short trek which turned into a 6 hour mission up and down the steepest hills i have seen, through a dense cool forest. during the trek we stopped at a tea plantation and had scones (which are no where near as good as ones at home). in the evening its get very cold due to the highlands being about 1100metres above sea level, which wern't good as i have only shorts and tshirts, so i managed to catch a cold.
