Last time I drove in the US I left the hotel on the wrong side of the road, and followed some tram tracks down a tram tunnel in the middle of the road. No wonder the other three were less keen on a highway day today. But I woke up with the idea in my head and booked in a car as soon as I could.
This place is the highway restaurant mecca of the US, or it looks that way. We decided on IHOP for Brunch. We ordered most of the things that looked good, tasted all of them and finished none, still only $46!
Next we found a Best Buy and a Walmart. We were scared off by the size of the Walmart and I timeboxed myself in Best Buy to limit the damage. I picked up a waterproof camera, mine broke last October.
So we have a waterproof camera... Off to Typhoon Lagoon! The camera was just an excuse, I love this place. We rode a few tube rides, took the slow crawl tube around the park, then Max and I hit the wave pool. I'll have to look up how you make these waves, Max and I swam out as far as you're allowed and hung out on the front of these big breaks for nearly an hour, awesome.
The other Highway Restuarant I keep hearing about in pop culture is Red Lobster, so it won. Tails, Prawns (Shrimp) wonderful. Mind you entering our third week in America, anything that hasn't been fried is already a winner.
Back ot Downtown after dinner. The kids and I hit Disney Quest. They call it an indoor theme park, I'd call it an arcade on steroids. There are some truely unique games and attractions here, as well as a lot of pap. Still we had a great time for a few hours before filling up the car and heading back to the hotel.
Someone is turning 6 tomorrow and more than a little excited about it. Night!
