Firstly I can report there are plenty of non-believers here in the US. Disney's Hollywood Studios carpark was 75% full at 9am this morning. Again its Spring Break this week yet with a few tips we're still getting to see and do everything we want.
Best tip of the week, get to Hollywood Studios and fast pass toy story straight away. It ended up with a 2hr queue and a 7hr fastpass queue! Was well worth it, the kids had a ball way better than the buzzlightyear shootemups we've played in the other parks.
Once we had the fast pass we grabbed some breakfast - look for the photo. Max orderd a sausage muffin - it came out three patties tall - America! We caught the little mermaid show and ended up with an excited little princess afterwards. We caught a bunch of characters for photos: Pigglet, Toy Story soldiers, Tigger & Eeyore, Goofy & Pluto, Chip & Dale, Lightening McQueen & Mater and finally Phineas & Ferb - the kids even got to do a mini-stage show for this one.
The Indiana Jones stunt show had Emerson hugging Max for protection, but the movies memories ride had Max grabbing me when the Alien popped out of the wall at us. Star Tours is 3D here which made it even more immersive. We also saw the Muppets 3D labs - I'm a fan of these Theatre attractions now - I love what these guys can do with the set and the mix of projection and live performance, little mermaid was probably better but both worth catching.
After all that we had a lazy hour around the fountain before hitting the adult rides.
Tip #2, look for single rider queues. The Aerosmith coaster had a 90minute queue, but I jumped on the single ride queue while Gab looked after the kids and I was on the rider 15minutes later. I haven't been upside down in years, fantastic! Someone lost their lunch half an hour before my ride, but I can trust Disney hygiene...
I queued for Fantastmic while Gab had her turn on the coaster, loved it just as much :) Being an hour and a half early for the show we got front row seats, which turned out to not be as fantastic as they sound. While waiting for the show I went and rode the Tower of Terror next door. Highlight of the day for me, the theatre for the ride was fantastic but dropping was awesome. On one of the drops it was pulling away so fast I had to intentionally pull myself back down into the chair before we landed to avoid a thud.
Finally Fantastmic! This is the finale show at Hollywood Studios. Mickey battles incarnations of most of the Disney villans from the last 60 years. Whoever runs projection here at Disney must have the coolest time working this stuff out. In Animal Kingdom they had ultra fine water misters running to make the plants feel Tropical. In the Mermaid show they projected on this mist above you, a laser running through it made it fell like the waters surface was floating above you. in Fantasmic this is taken to extremes. What must be 15-20m water jet curtains are the screen for the show - they drop the water to let the actors behind interact with the projections. Its an amazing effect.
So about halfway through the show a big change blew through. And for the rest of the show it blew the screen all over us. By that I mean we were all listed in fine spray. We all came out increadibly impressed, excited and damp :)
Home in bed by 10:30! Another fantastic day!

Helen Aurisch My goodness, I am really lost! What happened to Florida? Thought you were there for a while, or are you coming back to Orlando? Glad you all are having such a ball. xox
