Today we were up early, big plans! We got to Hollywood Studios just in time to book Max into the 12:30pm Jedi Training Academy, he was a little impressed. Meanwhile Gab and Emerson had a go on the Toy Story Midway Mayhem. Then they fast passed it, then had another go. Three goes round in total. Max and I joined them for the last two rides. By 4pm this afternoon people were queueing for over 2 hours to get on this thing. I mean its good but…
So the Toy Story ride is over we get Max to the set, then all the kids are escorted out to the stage. They train in a sequence that they will later need to do battle. Storm troopers enter and announce the arrival of Lord Vader! Darth-Maul arrives to battle the other half of the class. A few quick strikes from his Lightsaber and Max has taken on Darth Vader! Yoda's voice appears and announces the whole class has graduated, they are all now Padawan.
All this by lunch time! We grab our gear and head to Blizzard Beach for a super surprise. The four of us enter in a row and walk up the main street. In the opposite direction, the McGrath family! Confused looks abound :) All holidays Emerson has been having pretend calls with her friends back home. Yesterday after she hung up from Holly and Abigail she called up Sadie and told her to come over to Orlando and meet us at Downtown Disney. The look on her face as this make believe phone call seemed to have an impressive impact on reality was fantastic!
So the eight of us spent the afternoon going around Blizzard Beach. I think the kids and I now have an addiction to water parks. We went on everything worthwhile. Though only I managed to queue for an hour to get on the "Summit Plummet" - 120ft high near vertical drop. I didn't get on this until the end of the day. By then I'd just finished a bottle of courage (another great thing about US parks) and decided to join the queue. An hour in the warm afternoon sun later I was the courage has warn off, but I'm still standing behind a group of 4 little kids. By this stage Disney are cranking us through like human rounds on the belt. all of a sudden I'm in the hot seat!. Crank and I'm allowed to go. I can't see over the edge, where am I falling?
I regain processing ability as I near the end of the ride. I screamed the length of the tube which was either 4 minutes or 4 seconds depending on whose perspective you take. It was a highlight ride of the trip.
Awesome day with the McGrath family, looking forward to more!
