Brenton Kovacs's Travels
10th July
Spent the first hlf of the day visiting the newly completed Roppongi Hills Complex near Tokyo. It was nice but lacked character and people.
We found a busy little restaurant in a back street to have lunch at. It seems it is better value to have lunch as your main meal. The restaurants offer specials including soup, main meal and drinks for one set price which can be half the price of just the main meal for tea.
The other day we ordered lunch in a mall from the pictures. Unfortunately we did not pick well. The meat in the stir fry was liver. Not a meat either of us like. This was the only dud meal the whole trip.
Spent the rest of the day just wandering around the little back streets taking in the weird on wonderful sights. People watching here is very interesting, as there are lots of weirdly dressed guys and girls.
Back to the hotel and start sorting our stuff out. Fly home tomorrow.
11th July
Our flight is not to 8.30pm, so we have some time to kill. So we catch a train to Ikebukuro and Harajuku to wander the streets.
We head back to the hotel to grab our bags and catch the Narita express train. this take nearly 1.5 hours. The Narita airport is very quiet. It is a lot nicer clearing customs and immigration here than in the USA. No where near as strict with security.
Unfortunatley another trip has come to an end. Thoroughly enjoyed Japan. It has a lot to offer in the way of scenery and culture. Would like to return to explore more of the countryside and less of the cities.
Anyway we arrive home with a little more knowledge and some really good memories.
