Brenton Kovacs's Travels
Well i thought we had driven on along some pretty scenic roads. The road from Redding to the west coast is just unbelievable. The scenery is just superb. We follow a river with many rapids, plus the many shades of green from the forest that lines the road. Breathtaking stuff. We are also lucky with the weather as we are now in the sunshine state, and no more rain i hope.
The next part of the drive is through the Redwoods National park. Here the trees are many hundreds of years old and tower over 100 metres tall. We follow the coast road north till a town called Crescent City. There is a camp ground called KOA, its where will will stay for 2 nights. This camp ground is set among these massive giants. Would have to be the best camp site i have ever stayed in. Both nights we sit by a nice little campfire, planning the activities for the next day. We take a few scenic drives through the Land of the Giants and then to the beach. Also did a few walks
I found a place along a path that looked like a grave yard for fallen redwoods. I was able to walk on one of these fallen tress and it measured over 80 metres long before it was to hazardous to continue to the end. Beautiful crystal clear rivers also running. What a place!
