Sunday 2nd June
We set off from Split at noon - and had lunch as we sailed. What a life!
Headed west to Trogir - a tiny island - 500 metres by 250 metres. We moored right in the village where market stalls were set up all along the wharf.
Our local guide was a young local woman who was very passionate about her “ paradise” Trogir is a UNESCO heritage site - it is beautiful with white lime stone buildings including a magnificent 13th century Romanesque cathedral of St Lawrence built in 1240. There is evidence of prehistoric Greek habitation dating back 45000 years - mind boggles. It was so cute with cobbled laneways now with shops and restaurants. There was an interesting main road with a stone centre line - apparently one side designated the poor - the other the rich. Apparently Trigor is the home of winged Greek god Kairos - god of fleeting moments!,,
