APOLOGIES - resending to try and resolve problem. Pics under photo link. Still working out how this site works - having teething problems so you may receive link several times - apologies. Have commenced a photo album within site - so click on photo tag - hopefully they will show up there. Mid May - Lyn and I have almost completed the bookings for our trip which commences on 31st May - not long to go now!!!!! Still to confirm train travel - and accommodation in Oxford and Bath (UK) which should be no trouble. Most of the accommodation is Air B&B - with short stays in some hotels. Still determined to only take cabin bag which we will check in when we can. Travelling business class ✈️✈️
Wednesday 30th May - went to Novotel Brisb Airport late afternoon as always worried about traffic jams on the Bruse.
Thursday 30th -
We travelled from Brisbane to Zurich with Cathay. No problems - too much food! Strange short stop over in Cairns - many Chinese boarded.
Flew in to Hong Kong - lapped up the use of the lounge - had showers, more food - very relaxing. Then on to Zurich - watched 3 movies, ate far too much, and tried to sleep inn the very comfortable pod - managed a few hours. Arrived in Zurich 6.30 am Friday
Stopover in Zurich was quite long - and boring - but arrived in Split in a tiny little plane.
We enjoyed our stay of one night. Checked out the Diocletian Palace builtb inn 3rd century, stumbled on a Roman pageant with soldiers and the the Emporer and his empress ( tad amateurish but lots of bugles and clashing of swords etc) It was much cooler than we had anticipated so we did find several clothing stores and - nyes - we bought a few items - out of necessity ( god only knows where I will packm them!)
Saturday 1st was rainy - took our luggage to the boat and enjoyed coffee and pizza along the Promenade. Settled in to cabin during afternoon, dinner with all other 36 passengers that evening.
Sunday 2nd We had done much of our own touring of Split - but did go on a guided tour Sunday morning. Very interesting info re the multiple rulers of Split- and the Roman palace which was built in the 3rd century.
We left Split Sunday midday
