Spent the last 2 nights in Hvar. This is a magical island off the coast of Croatia. We picked up a rental car in Dubrovnik on Monday morning and headed up the coast towards Split, looking for the town of Drvenik to catch our car ferry across to the bottom tip of the island of Hvar. After getting lost several times, we finally reached the ferry for the 35 minute trip across, followed by a 90 minute drive along the length of the island to the historic old town of Hvar.

Today we've had an extra early start, up at 3.45am and we're on the 5.30am car ferry from Hvar to Split. It's a 2 hour trip and then we set off on a long 5 - 6 drive to the town of Rovinj in northern Croatia. We drop the car near there and spend just 1 night before catching a ferry to Venice tomorrow (Thursday).
