Busy day today, up earlyish and had nice breaky down at at the waterfront by the Galata Bridge then off to the Blue Mosque followed by the Haigi Sofia, both were awesome. this arvo we've been on a cruise on the Bosporus for a couple of hours, really interesting trip. It's extra hot here, about 35 today, so now back at the unit having a coldie before heading out to a local cafe for dinner. Just near here is the Tunel District which is the music centre of Istanbul ...

We were picked up from our apartment near the Galata Tower at around 6am this morning by our tour guide and we were on our way to Gallipoli. It's about a 5 hr drive along the peninsular to the battle fields, and the traffic getting out of Istanbul was insane. We've just had quick coffee stop now back on the road again. Once again the weather is stunning 30+ and not a cloud site. The landscape here is interesting, we've passed by some quite large towns, plus heaps...

Amazing!!! First day in Istanbul. Weather is stunning. Hot and clear. Had a look around on the hop on hop off bus. Went through Topkapi wanted to look at Haigi Sophia, but wouldn't you know it...closed on Mondays so on Wednesday we'll visit there and the Blue Mosque (in the photo). Went to the Grand Bazar for quick visit, will go back there on Wednesday as well. Off to Gallipoli at 6am tomorrow so will blog again after that.
