Spent the last 2 nights in Hvar. This is a magical island off the coast of Croatia. On Fathers Day in Dubrovnik, we set off on a cruise that was to take in 3 of the islands off Dubrovnik, with a stop off for lunch. After boarding our boat, all was going nicely until after about 3 stop offs along the coast the boatman asked us where we were heading to?? So today we went on the cable car up to the imperial fort at the top of the hills behind Dubrovnik. Went through the museum of the Homeland War of 1991 - 1995 hard to believe that it's only 18 years since that all finished. The recovery here is quite incredible really. Had a quite day just chilling out around Dubrovnik, caugh the local bus into the 'new' town wandered around there and went to the supermarket. This arvo walked around the city wall (see photos), it's a very neat walk and you can still see areas of the town that haven't recoved from the bombing by the Serbs in 1991. stunning views of the port and the water is crystal clear, might have to go for a swim tomorrow. Today we were picked up from our Istanbul Hotel at 6am for our transfer to Ataturk airport. Our flight to Dubrovnik on Turkish Airlines was fine, even our change of fights at Zargreb went without a hitch...Erin & T will be pleased to hear that!
