Today we took a bus to the next
town over, Siusi/Seis and then a cable car up to the Alpi di Suisi. These are high meadows of the Dolomites at about 6200'. Hiked the recommended trail (hard beginning!) up to Arnika Hutte for a light lunch & then on around the circle (Puglatsch Umlauben). Skies were overcast but with all our efforts we did not get cold!

The predominant language here is Austrian/German with Italian second. Most service people speak enough English to help, but not if you get too technical. Amazingly, some of my high school German is coming back, so between that & my newer baby Italian we're getting by!
