Sitting on deck was very relaxing.....the pelican seemed to have a regime we could almost set our clocks to.....the old man, well they look like old men....floated towards us at his usual time around four......oh here he comes again, I say.....suddenly he turns full circle and we saw his head look towards.....a snake.....wriggling in the water towards him.....two meters long, head raised tongue flicking......I thought the pelican may go for him but instead he gave a huge wide berth and at the same time the snake curled up around a few reeds.....they clearly both didn't want to meet.....then mr snake pops his head up and mouth open, toungue flicking...swims towards us and goes under the decking.....that was the end of my relaxing time.....
It hasn't helped my snake phobia, what with us seeing a sign the other day saying " drive slow pythons crossing...protected species"...then the newscaster on Tv ended a news with " keep an eye out fir those snakes folks it's the mating season".....tom seems oblivious to snake phobia.....I'm looking at my feet a lot more now !!!!!!
