Left Austria to drive a couple of hours to Munich through torrential rain, stopping at 5 service stations until one finally let me cash in my Austrian Go-Box for 18 Euros!
We arrived at the Allianz Arena (home of Bayern Munich FC) which would be our location to sleep tonight. Had to delay a day as you can't sleep at the ground when Bayern are playing and they were playing last night.
Took the tube into the city centre and just managed to catch the last few minutes of the 12pm clock performance in the bell tower on the main square.
Next stop was the food market but unlike Valencia & Barcelona this was outside which isn't great when freezing and pouring with rain.
So instead headed to a famous bierkeller, the Hofbrauhaus, where we all had tankards, even the children (although they only had soft drinks obviously). I was so happy just to be warm and dry but I also thoroughly enjoyed the beer & traditional German meat. There was even an authentic band but am sure they only played one song every 30 mins!
To finish off the day we went to the toy museum in another tower where the children were fascinated how toys had changed over the last 100 years.
As it was still so cold and wet we headed back to Bob who was waiting for us at the Allianz Arena.
