So here I am in Cairns, having been here for four nights and I have nothing tell you about it. The weather had been very average. Overcast, some rain and lots of wind. It seems like a lovely place but the beaches are all really far away and the only thing keeping us occupied is the Lagoon in front of our hostel on the esplanade.

The hostel is great, perfect location and we have a deal which is 4 nights for 54 dollars. So 13.5 a night is incredibly good considering it comes with a free meal every night too.

The only thing we have done was on Wednesday where we went on a tablelands and waterfalls adventure tour. We also went to the Gallo's chocolate & cheese factory. My favourite part was a 65 metre deep crater lake called Lake Eacham. It was an extinct volcano which closed up and over millions of years filled with rainwater. It was stunning and there was a pontoon we could jump off which made it good fun. It was filled with fish and turtles and apparently quite a few fresh water crocodiles!

Apart from that we have done very little. The most exciting thing that happened today was the fire alarm going off this morning!

The others have left for Bali and I'm leaving at 3.30am tomorrow morning for my 5.30 flight to Brisbane... Not excited about that...
