Finally the Queenstown blog has arrived! So, what is there not to like about Queenstown, it's beautiful, the people are lovely, the town is awesome, there are some wicked bars/ clubs, there's skiing, fishing and mountain biking all within about 10 minutes of the centre!!
It's the coolest place ever, plus it's the adrenaline centre of the world so happy days for me!!!
I stayed in Base hostel the whole 12 days with three awesome friends from my Kiwi Experience bus called Tony, Mark and Amber. Our room had the best view and I was on the bottom bunk facing the mountains! Not a bad view to wake up to every morning!
The first week, I'm not going to lie was solid drinking every night because pretty much everyone was sticking around for a week from our bus.
After that it got a bit quieter but by no means less fun! A couple of the things I did whilst I was there was the Nevis bungy jump (yes the highest in New Zealand at 134 metres!), the gondola up to Ben Lomond which towers 600 metres above Queenstown. And the luge while I was up there, some cheeky mini golf, I walked up the mountain a few days later too. One of my favourite things was frisbee golf! It sounds like what it is basically!! There are proper tees with 18 varying length holes dotted around a beautiful park next to the Lake. It was a lot of fun! We borrowed some tacky frisbees from the hostel which meant we had a very slow round!
Towards the end of Queenstown, my friends and I got quite into our get as much free stuff as possible, we played a lot of free Killer Pool for 35 dollar bar tabs, got a free drink in the Altitude bar below Base hostel every night and one of the nights we went and played poker! There were so many things to do and it was such a stunning place, I can't wait to go back!
I am in L.A right now but I will post two blogs for my final places (here and Fiji) when I'm back home!
On the 5.45pm flight tonight and will get in at 11.45 on Monday so see you tomorrow morning England!
